Bob Across America in the Enchanted Mountains

Picture of Bob and Laura from BobAcrossAmerica.com in Little Valley, NY

You ever have one of those days where you see someone or something and one part of your brain wants to stop while the another part of your brain wants to stay on task. Today was such a day as, on my way to work, I passed a bicyclist and a unicyclist with a camera on his helmet, on Route 242.

After seeing that, I immediately wanted to stop and chat but I had to get to work. I went to work told several co-workers what I had seen and said that I would love to just talk with them. Blah blah blah, co-workers agreed that this was probably something special and off I went!

Bob and Laura, two awesome people riding across America for the American Red Cross National Relief Fund through BobAcrossAmerica.com were hanging out at the stop light in Little Valley.

As you can see from the photo, Bob rides a big unicycle and Laura rides a bicycle. They have been going up and down all the steep hills and windy roads from Portland, Maine and through New York on their way to Portland, Oregon.

One of the stories that Laura and Bob had shared was about the only crash Bob has had so far on their trip across America. Bob had a monster mosquito attack his ankle and while Bob fought the mosquito off, he lost control of the unicycle and crashed helmet-first onto the ground.

Bob's sister Annah is also a big part of the team as she keeps things in order for Bob and Laura and she keeps people updated. Laura and Bob had some great stories to tell and some may be seen at BobAcrossAmerica.com.

They have met some great people on the way but have dealt with some negative people. Be sure to welcome Bob and Laura while they are passing through your part of the United States of America. So please pass some good vibes Bob and Laura's way by waving!

I would love to see some video from Bob's helmet camera. I haven't found any video on Bob's site yet but they have bunches of photos.

Also, note that Bob Tweets @unicyclebob
