Western New York Region of Pony Clubs Fun Eventing Rally

The Alley Cat Pony Club will host the Western New York Region of Pony Clubs Fun Eventing Rally at the Valley Equine Center on Saturday.

Such rallies are comprised of a dressage ride, stadium jumping and cross country jumping, as well as horse management.  Dressage rides will begin at 9am, and show jumping will start at 12:30pm immediately followed by the cross-country jumping phase of the event.

There are 35 competitors attending from across the region.  Skill levels vary from ground rails to riders jumping three-foot fences.

Based on the practices of the Pony Club in England, founded in 1928, the United States Pony Clubs was formed by a group of avid foxhunters who wanted a structured program to not only teach children sound riding skills and a love of equestrian sports, but also how to care for their mount.  The club was established in 1954.

Admission is FREE and the show is open to the public.  The competition is open only to Pony Club members.
