Miner’s Cabin in Franklinville was built by a miner that returned home after making it good during the gold rush era of the west coast. The building is not a cabin either but a three story house of Queen Anne design.

Beginning at 9am, you can enjoy a leisurely walk through a rare old growth forest with large specimens of Eastern Hemlock, White Pine, American Beech, and Red Oak and observe the seasonal changes in this majestic forest. This FREE walk is suitable for all ages.
Beginning at 10:30am, you can spend a morning with Pfeiffer's herbalist learning about the bounty of wild plants. Learn about safe foraging, sample edibles in the field, taste prepared products from the forest, concoct an infusion of fragrant leaves, and see samples of natural dyes and herbal remedies. There is a $10 charge for the general public and $5 charge for Pfeiffer Nature Center members.
