Pfeiffer Nature Center is hosting 3 Great Events today.
Historic Cabin Tour
At 9am, you can tour the Historic Cabin, listed on the National Historic Registry, a great place to step back in time and learn about the American Chestnut tree, the Pfeiffer/Wheeler/Dusenbury families and the ties between the Nature Center and another great forest, Hearts Content in western Pennsylvania. This is a FREE tour and suitable for all ages.
Wondering About Wildflowers
At 10:30am, you're invited to take a gentle walk on the Lillibridge property to enjoy and learn about some of the native wildflowers with a wildflower expert. Learn to identify local wildflowers using a dichotomous flower key. $10 for the general public and $5 for Pfeiffer Nature Center members.
Know the Night Walk
Unlike humans, night creatures are well adapted to the dark. You can learn and experience these differences in adaptation while you walk the Eshelman trails in the dark of night. Smell like a coyote, see like the owl. This program is not appropriate for children under the age of 5. $10 for the general public and $5 for Pfeiffer Nature Center members.
