Silver Bells in the City is held each year in honor of Ray Evans, lyricist of the famous Christmas song, “Silver Bells”. Ray Evans, a Salamanca native, was a pop lyricist who teamed up with the composer/lyricist Jay Livingston and wrote three Academy Award-winning songs together, as well as their famous Christmas song, “Silver Bells”. Events all day long in the town of Salamanca!  See schedule below: 

10am-5pm - Holiday Craft Show with 60 Vendors at the Salamanca High School and the Seneca Allegany Community Center!

11am-2pm - Visit Santa at Parkview Supermarket.

1pm - Holiday Dance Recital with the Salamanca Dance Center at the Salamanca High School.

3pm-6pm - 6th Annual Cattaraugus County's Got Talent Semi-Finals at the Salamanca High School.

Clare Mark is the highest elevation in Cattaraugus County

The highest point in Cattaraugus County is Clare Mark, at 2,430 feet.  This mount, in the Town of Allegany off Chipmunk Road, is privately owned, and does not have public access for hiking.  Nearby attractions are Rock City Park and Allegany State Park.
