Float Your Boat Down the Allegheny River in the Wounded Warriors Kayak and Canoe Regatta

Portville American Legion Post 814 is sponsoring the Wounded Warriors Kayak and Canoe Regatta to benefit L.E.E.K. Hunting and Mountain Preserve which provides wounded veterans a safe and handicapped accessible environment to enjoy outdoor activities.

The regatta course begins on Oswayo Creek, near the bridge just off Rt. 417 in Ceres and ends on the Allegheny River at Steam Valley Road in Portville.  This is approximately 12-15 miles.  You can sign up at the Portville American Legion (on Main St.) from 5 to 7pm Friday evening.  Regatta begins at 10am Saturday morning. 

Cost is $5 per person and entrants are encouraged to wear red, white and blue in honor of Flag Day.

Only East West Route that connects Canada with Mexico

Rt. 62 is the only east-west route that connects Canada with Mexico.

With its origin at Niagara Falls and end at El Paso, Texas, parts of the road follow the Ozark Trail.

Rt. 62 begins in Cattaraugus County in the Village of Gowanda and travels south through Dayton, Leon and Conewango (through Amish country) before heading west into Chautauqua County.
