Gowanda's Fall Festival 2017

Gowanda is having a Fall Festival at the end of September to start the Colorful season off!  Join in the scarecrow contest, stop to smell the mums at the Library sale, or take a tour of the Historic Hollywood Theater!

Jesse's Toys & Gifts will be having artist demonstrations both Friday and Saturday that weekend. The Gowanda Chamber of Commerce is working on getting a band to play at Gateway Park in Gowanda (the former site of Peter Cooper glue factory).  Later in the afternoon, Gateway Park will also see a "Legends" softball game featuring former players from Gowanda Merchants and State Hospital baseball teams.

Here's the schedule:
Gowanda 2017 Fall Fest Schedule

New to FallFest 2017 is the Gowanda History Hunt. Very simply, this is a scavenger hunt event built around historical facts about Gowanda. A sheet with several historical questions about Gowanda will be handed out. Participating local stores will have historical notes posted at their location. These will include all of the questions from the sheet plus several others.

Vote for your favorite Scarecrow!  The businesses of Gowanda are competing to have the best scarecrow display and you can vote!  As of the beginning of the contest on Saturday morning, paper ballots will be available in Gowanda at the locations mentioned above [during regular business hours for each location] or from Bill Peglowski, who will be downtown in Gowanda most of the morning and at Gateway Park in the afternoon on Saturday the 30th. Online voting will be available in the "You Know You're From Gowanda" group on Facebook.
