History of Niagara River and Falls with Pfeiffer Nature Center

Pfeiffer Nature Center is pleased to host nature enthusiast, Tim Baird as he shares his knowledge of the “new” 8th wonder of the world.  This program looks into the geology of the Niagara River region and the formation of the Niagara Gorge and Niagara Falls.  Details in the presentation may be new to the casual visitor to Niagara Falls and will aid in the appreciation of this truly unique region. 

This event will be held at The Portville Free Library, 1 North Main Street, Portville, New York 14770.  Fee:  Free for members, $5 for non-members and free for children 13 and under.  Minors must be accompanied by an adult.  Register by 4 PM, Thursday, January 11th, 2018.  Sign up on the programs Calendar on our website at www.pfeiffernaturecenter.org or contact the office at 716-933-0187.  Pfeiffer Nature Center is supported by United Way funding.  Pfeiffer Nature Center where science, art & nature come together.  Photo credit: Tim Baird.

Miner's Cabin built by Gold Miner

Miner’s Cabin in Franklinville was built by a miner that returned home after making it good during the gold rush era of the west coast. The building is not a cabin either but a three story house of Queen Anne design.
