Benjamin Grow conducts 15th season Southern Tier Symphony

Dare to do something different this weekend!  Make plans to attend Session 2 for the Southern Tier Symphony's 15th season.The second concert series will be held at 7:30pm on Saturday, January 27, 2018 at the Olean High School.  There will be a repeat concert in Bradford on Jan 28.  Mr. Benjamin Grow will be conducting.  The Theme for this year is "Horizons" and they have many exciting changes in stor and invite you to share in that excitement!

There will be pre-concert "Conductor Talks" at each site... arrive 45 minutes before each concert to learn about the concert pieces as presented by Mr. Grow.   

Tickets are $20 for adults, children and students are FREE.  Save $$ by purchasing a season subscription for $55.

Meaning of the word Cattaraugus

CATTARAUGUS, from a Seneca Indian word meaning “bad smelling banks,” referring to the odor of natural gas leaking from rock seams.

The word "Cattaraugus" means "foul-smelling river bank." This name is a result of the natural gas that oozes from the river mud.

In our opinion, only some of the river banks are bad smelling. Come on over and visit a creek in Cattaraugus County and tell us what you think.
