Feb 3rd Sat Trek and Music By Fireside at Allegany State Park

Get out of the house and come join in the fun as Allegany State Park continues its series of hikes called “3rd Saturday Treks.” As the name implies, these free, family-friendly hikes will take place on the 3rd Saturday of each month all year long. These treks will be led by park staff, members of the Allegany State Park Friends Group, or Historical Society members and each will focus on a different area of the park.

The February Third Saturday Trek will take place on Feb 17th at 1pm. Participants will explore behind the Red House Administration Building on the Red Jacket trail. Hikers are asked to meet in the Administration Building Lobby, Site 1, at 1:00 p.m. and to come dressed for the weather.

Each hike will last approximately two hours. Registration is not required. For more information, visit the Allegany State Park Facebook page or contact the Environmental Education/Recreation Department at 716-354-9101 ext. 236 or AlleganySP [at] parks [dot] ny [dot] gov

Later in the evening, after your hike, take a moment to make your winter season a little more relaxing by listening to some music in the warm Red House Administration Building Lobby. Join us on Saturday, February 17th for “By the Fireside.” This month’s featured performance is by Ken Hardley. Ken Hardley is a musician, entertainer, and socialite from Upstate New York. A lifetime dedicated to restless exploration of a variety of musical and literary mediums makes Hardley a performer of broad musical taste and perspective. Whether hosting Rolling Hills Radio, fronting a band, emceeing an event, or playing solo, Ken Hardley creates a wry, edgy, warm, funny, unpredictable, cerebral atmosphere that the whole family can enjoy.

This free “By the Fireside” event takes place on Saturday, February 17th from 7:00 p.m.-8:30 p.m. For more information please contact the Environmental Education/Recreation Department at 716-354-9101 ext. 236 or AlleganySP [at] parks [dot] ny [dot] gov.
