2017 Cadiz Heritage Day

Have some old-fashioned fun on Cadiz Heritage Day to be held at the Howe-Prescott House with cultural demonstrations and food!

Watch apple cider being pressed, a blacksmith making tools, and butter churning. Learn about quilting, crop harvesting and more skills necessary in the 1800s.  There will also be historical items on display; like antique engines and so much more! 

Enjoy a tour of this historical house.  It was constructed between 1816-19 and is a "salt-box" house.  Mr. E.S. Wright was the original owner.  Read more about the history

Barbeque on site along with picnic foods, music, quality vendors, and more!

Sponsored by the Ischua Valley Historical Society, who now owns the house.

Most Residents are Amish in the Town of Leon

There are approximately 1,380 residents in Leon with the Amish Community comprising about 76% of that number. The Old Order Amish settled in Leon in 1949. They do not believe in the modern conveniences. They have no electricity in their homes + travel by horse and buggy. 

If you are looking for someplace interesting to go, try the Leon area. It is right in the heart of Amish Country.
