WINTER SNOWSHOE HIKES -4:30 PM-  Join in every Tuesday evening for a trek into the sunset at Allegany State Park. Beginning January 8th, Park Naturalists will lead interpretive snow shoe treks, weather depending, or hikes along the summit ridgeline on Bear Paw Trail. Witness a breath-taking winter sunset at Stone Tower, then make your way back to the Summit Warming Hut for an after trek social. This 2.3-mile trail is easy-moderate with some slight elevation changes. Be sure to dress for the weather, bring a flashlight, snack, and a sense of adventure. Need snowshoes?  No problem, we have several pairs to rent for FREE!   Please call to reserve snowshoes by noon the day of each hike. The Largest New York State Park is Allegany State Park which is the 3rd largest in the nation with 65,000 acres (97 square miles) and lots of trails. Allegany State Park has over 35 miles of Cross Country skiing trails, 18 hiking trails and 5.6 miles of paved multi-use trails (horseback riding, snowmobiling and more) around Red House Lake area. 3 campground areas with over 375 cabins.
