Its twice the fun this month as we join the Western New York Mountain Bike Association (WNYMBA) to celebrate National Trails Day on June 1, 2019.

Come enjoy an evening with fellow fat bikers on Friday May 31, 2019. The Allegany State Park Environmental Education and Recreation Department will be hosting another Fat Bike Fun Ride at Art Roscoe Mountain Bike area at 6:30 pm, with the ride starting at 7:00pm. Check in will be at Summit Warming Hut on ASP Route 1. If you are interested in renting a bike for the evening, please call Loud Performance Products at (716)-386-1171. Bikes are limited. Bring a helmet, head light, and a snack to share for the after ride social sponsored by WNYMBA.

This month’s ride will roll along the ridge to the site of the soon to be Stone Tower Singletract trail. With help from the Friends of Allegany State Park, WNYMBA secured a grant to build nine miles of trails for hiking, mountain biking and snowshoeing near the Stone Tower.

On Saturday June 1, 2019- National Trails Day, grab your gloves as volunteers head out for a work day on Phase I of the Stone Tower Trail. If you like hiking, biking, backcountry skiing, or just enjoy the outdoors join WNYMBA, the Allegany Trail Crew and the Friends of Allegany State Park as they build sections of this new trail.

These are free events, however, to plan for the volunteer lunch, please register on Meet up https://www.meetup.com/WNY-Mountain-Bike-Meetup/events/258673029/  or https://www.facebook.com/events/240871840124258/
