Finding a great place to call your home away from home while on vacation is very important.  You want to be within travel distance to great events, attractions and parks, as well as being comfortable and relaxed.  Everyone wants a vacation but also not spend a fortune.  One place in the Enchanted Mountains has earned very prestigious awards from TripAdvisor again this year- the Seneca Allegany Resort & Casino

The Certificate of Excellence Award celebrates hospitality excellence worldwide and is given to accommodations, restaurants, and attractions listed on TripAdvisor that consistently achieve outstanding traveler reviews on the site.  The Seneca Allegany Resort & Casino has also been named Certificate of Excellence Hall of Fame winners for having earned a Certificate of Excellence during each of the past FIVE years! 

Others in our area include the Holiday Inn Express & Suites in Salamanca, Wingate by Wyndham in Ellicottville, The Inn at Holiday Valley and the Tamarack Club both located in Holiday Valley in Ellicottville, the Best Western plus University Inn by St. Bonaventure, the Hampton Inn in Olean, and Country Inn & Suites by Carlson in Olean.

The following restaurants have taken the cake, and the whole plate, receiving the Certificate of Excellence Award!  In Salamanca- the Seneca Cafe in Seneca Allegany Resort & Casino.  Lots of choices in Ellicottville - Cadillac Jacks, Ellicottville Brewing Company, Dina's, The Gin Mill, John Harvards Brewhouse, and Tips Up Cafe.  In Olean - Beef'N Barrel, Brother's Bistro and El Mariachi.  And of course Sprague's in Portville! 

Destinations are also awarded and can be found as "Things to Do in....." on TripAdvisor.  Our winners are really no surprise to us!  Allegany State Park, Holiday Valley, Griffis Sculpture Park and Rock City Park

Most Residents are Amish in the Town of Leon

There are approximately 1,380 residents in Leon with the Amish Community comprising about 76% of that number. The Old Order Amish settled in Leon in 1949. They do not believe in the modern conveniences. They have no electricity in their homes + travel by horse and buggy. 

If you are looking for someplace interesting to go, try the Leon area. It is right in the heart of Amish Country.
