Two local artists will open their studio in Limestone NY.  Sean Huntington and Courtney Blackmon host a holiday open studio at the Town of Carrollton Municipal Building (former Limestone school).

Sean Huntington from Allegany NY, works in watercolor to create tree portraits and landscape paintings in what he defines as “an abstraction of the north-woods landscape that I love. The repetition of line in a grove of aspen, the arching symmetry of a white oak, blue lichen growing on a hemlock- these are just a few things that I find fascinating. I tend to focus on a color or shape and "push" it -making the colors brighter and shapes more abstract.”

Courtney Blackmon from Olean NY creates abstract acrylic paintings that the artist defines as “bold, funky and fun.” Courtney also states that she is interested in color theory and the relationships/ harmony of color combination and find myself experimenting with unique color choices.

If you are looking to shop locally this holiday season, stop by the open house to find original paintings in a variety of sizes from both artists.

Hours are Friday, 6pm - 10pm, Saturday and Sunday, 10am - 5pm.  This open studio is free and open to the public. For more information about the open house or to preview the artists work please visit www.seanstrees.com or www.courtneyblackmon.com
