Enchanted Mountain Music Fest

Holiday Valley Resort presents the Enchanted Mountain Music Festival, a 3-day bluegrass music festival with workshops and concerts.

Bands will include Frank Solivan and Dirty Kitchen and Nora Jane Struthers and the Party Line, Creek Bend and Paris Texas with Dee Specker.  Workshops will be offered throughout the weekend as well. 

Lodging

Lodging packages will be available at the Tamarack Club and the concerts will take place next door at the Holiday Valley Lodge. The Tamarack Club is a condo/hotel with units ranging from one room suites to 3 bedroom condos. John Harvard's Brew House and Restaurant and the Falling Waters Spa are on site, as well as a heated indoor/outdoor pool, hot tubs, sauna and fitness room. The Tamarack Club has a grand view of the ski slopes and golf course at Holiday Valley. 

Schedule of Events

Friday April 11 
4:00 Unplugged workshop
7:30PM  Frank Solivan and Dirty Kitchen
8:30PM  Nora Jane Struthers and the Party Line

Saturday April 12
Morning - workshops on singing and all instruments
Afternoon - workshops and concerts featuring Creek Bend and Paris Texas
Evening concert featuring Creek Bend, Paris Texas and Frank Solivan and Dirty Kitchen

Sunday April 13 - late morning Paris Texas with Mark Panfils and Frank Solivan and Dirty Kitchen.

Tickets

$75 for the weekend or $25 per concert.  An all-day Saturday pass including morning workshops and afternoon and evening concerts is $50.

Top 10 site for Steelhead Fishing

Cattaraugus Creek has been listed in the top 10 sites for Steelhead Fishing (rainbow trout fishing) by 2 outdoor magazines. Steelhead Trout AKA Rainbow trout are very similar to Salmon in both taste and habits. Unlike other areas of the United States, our native Rainbow trout (Steelhead Trout) spend a majority of time in Lake Erie a freshwater lake and spawn in the Cattaraugus Creek and other tributaries.

The following is from the New York State Dept. of Environmental Conservation's article "Steelhead Fishing in Lake Erie Tributaries"

Lake Erie's tributary streams, both big and small, receive an annual run of migratory rainbow trout called "steelhead." From October through April, thousands of steelhead ascend New York's Lake Erie tributaries on their mission to spawn. Excellent fishing opportunities await any angler who wishes to try their hand at steelhead fishing. Between the acrobatic leaps, long drag-screaming runs and rod quaking head shakes, the fight of an early run steelhead is a truly exhilarating experience.
