Bonagany festival in Allegany NY

Plan on joining the fun on Allegany’s Main Street for the annual Bonagany Festival, celebrating the friendship between the village of Allegany and St. Bonaventure University communities, on Saturday, September 23rd, from 11am-5pm.  This is held annually during St. Bonaventure's Family Weekend and offers families a way to discover the Village and area outside of the campus.

Bonagany 2017 has something to offer for everyone in the family. The festival offers adults the opportunity to enjoy vendors featuring fine art, interactive art, homemade crafts and of course the student clubs and organizations!  Children will enjoy a variety of activities, including inflatable amusements, wagon rides, the balloon man, a caricature artist (Eric Jones), a juggler, local dancing showcases, free mechanical bull rides and a free photo booth!

There will be live music all day from local musicians!

Vendor applications are now being accepted - download the application here

Most Residents are Amish in the Town of Leon

There are approximately 1,380 residents in Leon with the Amish Community comprising about 76% of that number. The Old Order Amish settled in Leon in 1949. They do not believe in the modern conveniences. They have no electricity in their homes + travel by horse and buggy.

If you are looking for someplace interesting to go, try the Leon area. It is right in the heart of Amish Country.
