When a location is deemed as 'inactive', the location may be inaccessible to the public.

Example A

A place of business may be inactive as we were informed that the business is closed until further notice.

Example B

A location may have had an access road washed away or it is under construction or deemed as dangerous to the public.

There’s no fishing license required on those days for the fresh or marine waters of New York State, making it the opportune time for people of all ages to learn and enjoy the day. We especially encourage those with more experience to bring along the young people in your life to show them the value of patience, the anticipation of the bite and the exhilaration of the catch!

Guide for Steelhead Fishing in Cattaraugus Creek

Cattaraugus Creek offers over 34 miles of steelhead angling opportunities from Lake Erie to the Springville Dam. A portion of the stream and its lower tributaries are on Seneca Nation of Indian Lands, so if you plan to fish there, you will need a license for the Reservation.
