Allegany State Park will host volunteers for I Love My Park Day at the Beehunter Picnic Shelter on the Red House side of the park as part of more than 100 cleanup, improvement and beautification events happening statewide on Saturday, May 4th. I Love My Park Day is the largest statewide volunteer event to enhance parks, historic sites and public lands and raise awareness and visibility to the state outdoor recreation assets and their needs.
Check in will be at Beehunter Picnic Shelter from 9am-10am with projects beginning at 10. All ages are welcome. Main projects include - stick pick up, cleanup of fire pits, beach cleanup, litter cleanup, clean grills of picnic areas and gardening. A free Sahlen’s hot dog lunch will be served by the Friends of Allegany at 2pm.

All participants will be eligible for door prizes provided by the Friends of Allegany. Drawing at the end of the event, you must be present to win. Please dress for the weather, bring gloves and bug spray.
I Love My Park Day is coordinated at the statewide level by Parks & Trails New York (PTNY) in partnership with the New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation (OPRHP) and the New York Department of Environmental Conservation. Friends groups and park staff will oversee cleanup, improvement and beautification projects and work with volunteers.
