Christmas in Gowanda

Gowanda is a a beautifully quaint community nestled among the hills surrounding Cattaraugus Creek and is coming together for a Christmas Celebration. Come help start off the holiday season downtown with local merchants, train rides, Annual tree lighting ceremony, Holiday Spirit Parade and a festive atmosphere for the whole family. Of course we can not forget that Santa and all his helpers will be there to help us celebrate this joyous time of year! Mark your calendars! 

On Friday, December 5th, the festivities begin at 5pm. Horse drawn carriage rides will be available from 5pm - 8pm. Enjoy live choral music provided by Mrs. Huber from the Gowanda Assembly of God Church from 6pm - 7pm. Keep warm and toasty near the burnging barrels and sip hot cocoa or coffee which will be provided by the neighborhood watch group. Santa will make an appearance from 6pm -8pm with goodies for the children and there will be a petting zoo as well. Then at 7pm, the annual tree lighting will take place with local dignitaries welcoming everyone to the event.

On Saturday, December 6th, the festivities begin at noon in the business district. Police and fire truck rides will be held from 2pm until 4pm. Santa and Mrs. Claus will make their walking appearance around town at 1pm and will be at Love Inc. from 3-5pm. The petting zoo will be in the parking lot across from the theater from 1pm until 4pm. There will be a play at the Gowanda Theater. Then a parade at 6pm followed by FIREWORKS!

Gowanda Community Theater will be presenting "The Little Town of Christmas" at the Hollywood Theater on December 5th and 6th!
