January is a great time to get things done. In 2015, National Just Do It Day was created to encourage people to take action and finally do the things they have always wanted to do. It’s a day to work on goals, dreams and procrastinated projects. Maybe the goal is to ride a bike for one thousand days, send a message to a friend, re-pot overgrown plants, learn to play a harmonica or recycle all the cardboard boxes from the holidays. Big or small actions are all worthwhile prompting a feeling of achievement and overall satisfaction.
Maybe you have always dreamed of riding a bike in the winter with a light. If so, we have an event for you!
On January 24th, join park educators for a fun bike ride around the Red House area of Allegany State Park.
The ride starts at Camp Allegany at 6:30 pm with a potluck social to follow in the Rec Hall. Bring a bike, head lamp or bike lights, and a helmet. We would also like to hear your goals or intentions for 2026. Accountability is a great way to stay on track of intentions and goals.
