Friends of Good Music presents Janoska Ensemble

Friends of Good Music and the Regina A. Quick Center for the Arts in St. Bonaventure University presents Janoska Ensemble.

Musical passion! That nicely sums up the spirit of the “Janoska Style,” with which the Janoska Ensemble has shot to international fame in no time.  At each performance the four artists dazzle their audience with their music and their vast reserves of creative energy.

This trio of three brothers from Bratislava, Slovakia — Ondrej (violin), Roman (violin) and Frantisek (piano) Janoska — together with their Hungarian double bassist brother-in-law Julius Darvas, went gold for Deutsche Grammophon and is bringing down the house at every performance.

Tickets for all the events for the 2018-19 season are available from the Quick Center Box Office.  Please call 716-375-2494 during their regular office hours of:
Monday - Friday: Noon - 5pm
Saturday & Sunday: Noon - 4pm
Performance Dates: Opens one hour before each performance and is open during admission.
Season Subscriptions are available on the Friends of Good Music Website

Meaning of the word Cattaraugus

CATTARAUGUS, from a Seneca Indian word meaning “bad smelling banks,” referring to the odor of natural gas leaking from rock seams.

The word "Cattaraugus" means "foul-smelling river bank." This name is a result of the natural gas that oozes from the river mud.

In our opinion, only some of the river banks are bad smelling. Come on over and visit a creek in Cattaraugus County and tell us what you think.
