2019 Silver Bells in Salamanca
Santa on a fire truck

As the fall winds sweep away the falling leaves and before you sleep off your turkey dinner, if you listen closely, you can almost hear the ringing of bells. Bells?  Yes, that's right we all love that it's almost Silver Bells in the City time.  Soon in the air there will be a feeling of Christmas as the strings of street lights, even stoplights will blink red and green.  The theme of the festival is a reminder of Ray Evans, lyricist of "Silver Bells" who was born in Salamanca.

The Ray and Wyn Evans Foundation, the Seneca Salamanca Chamber, and its members are busily planning and organizing their holiday events to help you ring in the holiday season.

Key events are:
December 4th: 4-7pm -
Swan St. Florist's Christmas Open House.

December 6th: 6pm - The fun and festivities kick off with a parade on Friday, December 6th at 6:30pm!  Santa and Mrs. Claus will be ushered in at the end of parade (on Main St.) to Jeffereson Park where they will hit the switch to turn on all the holiday lights in the Park, and officially ring in the season!  Bring the family and enjoy the Hoiday festivities, music, hot chocolate, and the surprises that this magical time of the year can bring.

December 7th: 9-11am - Breakfast with Santa at Myer's Steakhouse.  Call 945-3153 for reservations.

December 7th: 1pm - "Arthur Christmas" at the Ray Evans Seneca Theater.

December 12th: 3-5pm - Santa's Carnival at Community Action.

December 14th: 10am-12pm - Santa & Live Reindeer at the Salamanca Historical Society Museum.

December 14th:  6-8pm - Calling Santa with WGWE.

December 14th: 7pm - Silver Bells Holiday Show at Ray Evans Seneca Theater.

December 14th: 10am-4pm  - Christmas Bazaar at the Allegany Community Center.  Enjoy native crafts & foods, as well as Christmas Arts & Crafts.

December 15th: 3pm - Christmas Cantata at United Congregational Methodist Church.

December 17th: 6pm - High School Holiday Concert

December 21st: 12-6pm - Classic Holiday Cartoons on the screen at Ray Evans Seneca Theater, presented by the Silver Bells Holiday Shop.

So, join us and hear the snow crunch, see the kids bunch, this is Santa's big scene, and above all this bustle, you'll hear silver bells, it's Christmas time in the city, ring-a-ling, hear them ring. Soon it will be Christmas Day.
