Allegany State Park Equestrian Trails

Trails:

Allegany State Park has set aside 55 miles of trails spread out on 65,000 acres, specifically for summertime equestrian use. The horse trails are on a series of interconnecting loop trails that utilize gravel park roads, abandoned town roads and abandoned railroad rights-of-way. You will ride on hillside, rolling and level trails.

Footing:

Good footing for horses throughout woodland settings.

Markings:

There is an informative free horse trail map that can be obtained in the park rental offices.

The town of Freedom, NY is full of farms and woodland. The hamlet of Sandusky is in the Town of Freedom. According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 40.6 square miles, of which, 40.3 square miles of it is land and 0.3 square miles of it (0.64%) is water.

Cotton candy, fried food, rides, animal shows, and live entertainment, are all available at the Cattauragus County Fair. Make plans to catch the demolition derby, monster trucks, or a concert. Have some good old fashioned fun! The fair is held yearly, the first week in August.
