New York's State Parks and Historic Sites celebrates our Centennial in 2024, commemorating the 100th anniversary of the founding of our parks and sites system. Help us kick off this yearlong celebration and get your New Year off to a great start with a hike in Allegany State Park along the newly finished Quaker Run Area Multi-Use Trail.

Portville Central School’s Arts, Crafts, & Antiques Show returns as a one day, indoor event. It will be held at the Portville High School and will feature art, crafts, antiques and food on Saturday, November 2nd from 10:00am-5:00pm.

Proceeds collected directly benefit the students of Portville Central School in the form of achievement awards and student scholarships.

Celebrate the Holiday Season with a Living Nativity, complete with a camel, all in the Village. The Ellicottville  A Christmas Stroll was created in 1987 by a group of citizens who wanted to organize such an event in the village. After brainstorming over coffee, it was decided that they wanted a live nativity scene with children dressed as angels and shepherds, who walked around the village and met at the gazebo. There, the baby Jesus was presented and caroling presided. The tradition has continued on for the past 36 years.

Enjoy a unique and fast-paced take on the Bard with "Shakespeare Abridged"! This comedic performace is brought to the state by the Kenan Center Troupe. The Kenan Center is one of the premier facilities in the Buffalo Niagara region for arts, education and recreation programming.

Showtime is Friday, April 17th, 2026 at 7:30pm and Saturday, April 18th, 2026 at 7:30pm. Tickets are $20 for adults, $18 for senior citizens and SBU staff & faculty, and $5 for students. 

Spring is here! Join an Allegany State Park Naturalist for a "Signs of Spring Evening Walk" explaining Allegany State Park's blossoming spring critters on Wednesday, April 23rd from 6:30-8:00pm. Participants will be treated to some early signs of spring that may include display flight of American Woodcock, chorusing amphibians, newly emerged spring plants and much more. Come early and celebrate Earth Day with making bird feeders using recyclable materials. Earth Day is all about environmental stewardship, and this activity is a meaningful way to reduce waste and support local wildlife.

Start your Beer and Wine Festival experience a day early as you Crawl Outta Fall. Guests register in the lobby of the Tamarack Club and pick up a passport that features all the locations to visit for drink specials that evening. Registration takes place between 4 - 7PM and live music will be playing in Edna's at the Tamarack Club. Only $15 to participate.

Basilica of St. Mary of the Angels Free Tours available on the 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th Fridays of the month. No reservations necessary. Come and discover the beauty of the southern tier's Basilica of St. Mary of the Angels in Olean, NY.  The 33 Munich-style windows are some of the finest domestically-produced windows in the nation.  Pope Frances designated the church as a Minor Basilica on February 14, 2017 for its exquisite art, architecture and history. Holiday Valley Snowsports School is featuring the 10th annual YOUR TURN women's clinic on Wednesday and Thursday, January 24 and 25, 2024 led by Lisa Ballard, a widely acclaimed coach and ski racer and assisted by several of Holiday Valley's finest women instructors. Intermediate skiers who can ski the blue squares through advanced skiers who want to take their skiing to the next level will benefit from this clinic. The clinic will begin at 8AM with registration and breakfast. Pre-registration is advised as attendance is limited. Questions, call 716-699-3506.
