The NYS Dept of Environmental Conservation is hosting a FREE fishing day on February 14-15, June 27-28, September 26, and November 11th. There’s no fishing license required on those days for the fresh or marine waters of New York State, making it the opportune time for people of all ages to learn and enjoy the day. We especially encourage those with more experience to bring along the young people in their lives to show them the value of patience, the anticipation of the bite, and the exhilaration of the catch!

Join Laura Solly, Ellicottville-based yoga instructor, for an all-levels outdoor yoga session nestled in the picturesque blueberry patch, overlooking the beautiful fields. Breathe deeply, stretch out, and reconnect with nature as you savor the sweetness of summer. 

Before or after class, enjoy pick-your-own blueberries and flowers, and soak in the tranquil atmosphere. 

Discover the history of Allegany State Park- January 1, 2026. This year’s First Day Hike is an easy trek featuring historical and environmental tidbits of information about the features found in this area of the park. Your hike will take you along the Quaker Multiuse trail that conveniently has an entrance at Camp Turner.

At 11:30 a.m. join park educators for a guided hike at Science Lake and learn the history and interesting historical figures of the park. The Historical Society will have the Quaker Museum open from 10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.
