Free Fishing Day in NY!
The NYS Dept of Environmental Conservation is hosting a FREE fishing day on February 15-16, June 28-29, September 27, and November 11th. There’s no fishing license required on those days for the fresh or marine waters of New York State, making it the opportune time for people of all ages to learn and enjoy the day. We especially encourage those with more experience to bring along the young people in their lives to show them the value of patience, the anticipation of the bite, and the exhilaration of the catch!

First Day Bike Ride at Allegany State Park 2025
First Day Bike. Next Level Mountain Biking will be leading a ride in the Red House area. Meet at Camp Allegany at 11:00 am on January 1, 2025. The pace and the length of the ride will be moderate and be determined by the participants. Participants may split into different paced groups, if necessary. No one will be left behind. Tourism Promotion Program
Cattaraugus County's Tourism Promotion Grant Program, also known as the Bed Tax Grant Program, accepts funding applications, that support and encourage tourism promotion in Cattaraugus County, New York (the Enchanted Mountains).
Funding Source
The program's funding source is the County's share of taxes collected from overnight stays, bed taxes, within the County. This funding source is split into the following two groups:
Group A
Several Chambers of Commerce with full-time staff.
Group B
Business associations, non-profit organizations, events, festivals, chambers of commerce without full-time staff and other tourism-associated activities.
