First Day Bike. Next Level Mountain Biking will be leading a ride in the Red House area. Meet at Camp Allegany at 11:00 am on January 1, 2025. The pace and the length of the ride will be moderate and be determined by the participants. Participants may split into different paced groups, if necessary. No one will be left behind. Spring is here and so is the annual Mother's Day Craft Show! There will be over 20 different vendors to shop from and a Chinese auction available. Shop for jewelry, candles, beauty products, breads, dips, diamond paintings, wood pieces, painted slates and so much more. 

Come out to Allegany State Park on October 5th at 9:30am to experience "Autumn in Allegany"! 

This FREE event will be held in the Red House Area of the park at the Administration Building and is perfect for all ages! Participants will learn basic watercolor techniques and create their own masterpieces under the guidance of naturalists. All materials are provided, so you just need to bring your creativity! 

Schedule of Events:

This class welcomes all levels of watercolor experience—whether you’re a complete beginner or have been painting for years. Each session is tailored to meet individual skill levels, helping every student grow and refine their technique. You’ll choose from a selection of pre-drawn nature-themed outlines to paint, allowing you to focus on developing your watercolor skills without the pressure of drawing. All supplies are provided, and your finished artwork will be ready to frame in an 8” x 10” frame.

Spring is here! Join an Allegany State Park Naturalist for a "Signs of Spring Evening Walk" explaining Allegany State Park's blossoming spring critters on Wednesday, April 23rd from 6:30-8:00pm. Participants will be treated to some early signs of spring that may include display flight of American Woodcock, chorusing amphibians, newly emerged spring plants and much more. Come early and celebrate Earth Day with making bird feeders using recyclable materials. Earth Day is all about environmental stewardship, and this activity is a meaningful way to reduce waste and support local wildlife.

The Challenger Learning Center in Allegany is hosting a magical event where kids, and parents, can dress up as their favorite wizards and participate in over 30 STEAM activities on October 26th, from 5:30-7:30pm. 

Cost: $5 per person 

*If you register by October 22nd, your child will receive a special letter from Hogwarts via email that you can print out!
