Guide for Steelhead Fishing in Cattaraugus Creek
Cattaraugus Creek offers over 34 miles of steelhead angling opportunities from Lake Erie to the Springville Dam. A portion of the stream and its lower tributaries are on Seneca Nation of Indian Lands, so if you plan to fish there, you will need a license for the Reservation.

Gowanda
Gowanda is a town and village that is in Cattaraugus County and Erie County.
Gowanda was settled in 1810 by Turner Aldrich and incorporated as Gowanda in 1848. The name "Gowanda" came from the Seneca Indian phrase of "a valley among the hills" or "under the cliffs."
New Albion
New Albion is named after Albion in Orleans County, New York, the source of some early settlers.
The Town of New Albion is in the northwest quadrant of the county, northwest of the City of Salamanca.
