Try a Spring Art Class with the Tri-County Arts Council

Spring 2019 art classes with Tri-County Arts Council

Come and get creative at the Tri-County Arts Council (TCAC) art classes!  Learn a new skill, become more creative, or simply take some time with friends.  Check out what is in store for Winter and Spring! 

Creative Clay classes are held on the first Monday of each month.  Projects include a chip and dip bowl (Feb), a flower plaque (Mar), a woven vessel (Apr), a spiral coil bowl (May) and gardne mushrooms (June).  Students of all skill levels are welcome and all supplieswill be provided.  Your project will be created in one class session and can be picked up after the piece has been fired.

Beginner Throwing - starts Feb 28th - six week class with Pamela Delyannis
Stained Glass Owls - starts Mar 6th - two time class with Linda Simons
Glazing and Surface Decoration - starts April 2nd - six week class with Helene Stolzenberg
Intro to Bookbinding - starts May 1st - four week class with Deb Eck
Mosaic Garden Stone - starts May 2nd - four week class with Carolyn Raine
Basic Throwing - starts May 21st - six week class with Helene Stolzenberg

Location: All classes will be held at 100 West Main Street, Allegany NY 14706 unless otherwise noted.  Prices vary according to class.

A completed registration form and pre-payment are required for all classes. Check payment is accepted, and can be sent to TCAC at P.O. Box 406, Olean, NY 14760 or dropped off at the studio at 100 West Main Street, Allegany.

Meaning of the word Cattaraugus

CATTARAUGUS, from a Seneca Indian word meaning “bad smelling banks,” referring to the odor of natural gas leaking from rock seams.

The word "Cattaraugus" means "foul-smelling river bank." This name is a result of the natural gas that oozes from the river mud.

In our opinion, only some of the river banks are bad smelling. Come on over and visit a creek in Cattaraugus County and tell us what you think.
