Join us on Saturday, September 22nd, rain or shine for a Celebration of the Arts at Nannen Arboretum in Ellicottville. From 12:30 pm – 3:30 pm, and enjoy local artists sharing their creative talents with you as you walk through the beautiful arboretum grounds. Many of the artists will also have pieces of their art for sale.

  • Plough and Allen Fine Arts – watch Todd create an oil painting of the bridge while Darlene displays her photographs of the arboretum.
  • Brookside Studio – see Robin Zefers Clark demonstrate how to use colored pencils to create life-like drawings of animals.
  • Cathy Lacey – Cathy will start with animal fleece and, using a ‘needle felting’ technique, turn it into a work of art.
  • Mary Kay Schreckengost –Mary Kay will be creating and displaying her artistic creations using wool appliques.
  • Flowers Off the Farm – Nicole will be making beautiful bouquets using flowers she grows on her local farm.
  • Chris Stark – Chris will show you how she creates delightful pieces of art by painting on porcelain vases, plates, etc.
  • Judy MacMillan – Judy will turn clay into a piece of art on her pottery wheel.
  • Karen Fitzpatrick – Karen creates beautiful pieces with stained glass.
  • Karen Grabowski – Karen’s specialty is watercolor painting.
  • Penny Minner - Penny is a highly skilled basket weaver and makes beautiful corn husk dolls.

The Celebration of the Arts is free, what better way to spend a Sunday afternoon! Music will be provided by Mary Kay and Garrett singing and playing their guitars and Annette Ieda strumming her harp.  Refreshments will be available on the Rotary Patio behind the Ellicottville Town Center building adjacent to the arboretum. In case of rain, the celebration will take place in the auditorium of the Ellicottville Town Center building.
