The third performance of the 2021-2022 Concert Series, presented by Friends of Good Music and held at the Regina A. Quick Center for the Arts, is a Holiday Concert with the Frisson Ensenble.

From New York City, Frisson features the best and brightest of classical music's rising stars. Frisson showcases a myriad of rarely-performed masterworks, and the group expands and contracts into a variety of ensembles, including quintets, sextets, and nonets. This holiday program features instrumental works from Bach to Vivaldi and an audience sing along of traditional songs including “Come all Ye Faithful,” “Hark the Herald Angel’s Sing,” and “Silent Night.”

Memberships for Friends Of Good Music are available and include a basic subscription with reserved seats for any six programs. Season subscribers may individualize their plan by adding additional program tickets to their subscription at a greatly reduced price. All seats are reserved, though members may request specific seats with their subscription order on a first-come, first-served basis.

Special Single Ticket Price for Non-Subscribers: $25

Tickets can be purchased over the phone or at the box office, which is open one hour before performances and during intermission. All art galleries and the gift shop at the Quick Center are open on concert nights.  Season Subscriptions are available on the Friends of Good Music Website.

Meaning of the word Cattaraugus

CATTARAUGUS, from a Seneca Indian word meaning “bad smelling banks,” referring to the odor of natural gas leaking from rock seams. http://www.dos.ny.gov/info/pdfs/countynames.pdf

The word "Cattaraugus" means "foul-smelling river bank." This name is a result of the natural gas that oozes from the river mud. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cattaraugus_Creek.

In our opinion, only some of the river banks are bad smelling. Come on over and visit a creek in Cattaraugus County and tell us what you think.
