April calls for spring cleaning, and the Allegany State Park Historical Society invites the community to help get the Quaker Museum and St. John’s Chapel ready for the season on Saturday, April 18th, 2026 at 1:00pm!
Lend a hand with some dusting, vacuuming, and light cleaning to freshen up these two historic gems. The cleanup will last approximately 90 minutes. Cleaning supplies like shop vacs, rags, and dusting tools are welcome, though some will be provided on-site.

Thursday 6/27: the carnival is open from 6:00 PM until 11:00 PM. Water fights are planned for 6:30 PM in front of the fire station. Registration starts at 6:00. The "Sticktights" band will be playing around 7:00 PM.

The NYS Dept of Environmental Conservation is hosting a FREE fishing day on February 15-16, June 28-29, September 27, and November 11th. There’s no fishing license required on those days for the fresh or marine waters of New York State, making it the opportune time for people of all ages to learn and enjoy the day. We especially encourage those with more experience to bring along the young people in their lives to show them the value of patience, the anticipation of the bite, and the exhilaration of the catch!
There will be three, two-person one act plays performed.
The Guerrilla Theatre Project will arrive at the sculpture park on Friday evening, then proceed to write three brand new one-act plays, audition performers, rehearse and perform the plays - all in 24 hours. The performances will take place at 7:00 p.m. at different locations at the Mill Valley Road section of the park.

The interactive and informational exhibits tell the history of the Seneca, from the Creation Story to present day.
While there are opportunities to touch and listen to certain components of the exhibits, tours are also available and highly recommended.
