Chautauqua-Allegheny Tourism Region

Chautauqua County, the Enchanted Mountains (Cattaraugus County) and the Western NY Wilds (Allegany County) comprise the Chautauqua-Allegheny Tourism Region, which is located in South Western New York State.

Allegany County - Western NY Wilds

Allegany County is known for where nature and art meet, the Wellsville Balloon Rally, the Genesee River, ATV parks and the Bare Knuckle Boxing Museum.

EVL Trail Fest will be at HoliMont on August 8-10, 2025! There will be camping, biking, music and Food.

  • Saddle Pond Party- 10am - 4:30pm
  • Pour Taproom- 11am - 3pm
  • EBC Tastings starting at 3pm
  • Olmsted Dub system 6pm - 9pm

Winter Family Fun Walk with Allegany State Park

Redhouse Lake at ASP

Beat the winter blues and join us for a winter filled with fun indoor and outdoor activities. Allegany State Park and the Pat McGee Trail will be bustling with activities provided by the Allegany Region Environmental Educators. 

Pat McGee Trail nature walk begins at 1:00 p.m. at the New Albion Road parking area of the trail.

Free Fishing Day in NY!

The NYS Dept of Environmental Conservation is hosting a FREE fishing day on November 11th. There’s no fishing license required on those days for the fresh or marine waters of New York State, making it the opportune time for people of all ages to learn and enjoy the day. We especially encourage those with more experience to bring along the young people in your life to show them the value of patience, the anticipation of the bite and the exhilaration of the catch!
