The Town and Village of Allegany, NY are situated along the Allegheny River among the heart of the Enchanted Mountains of Western New York State.
The very first NASCAR points champion from the Northeast part of the USA, Bill Rexford, began his career at the Pennyroyal Race Track in Leon, NY.
Bill is NASCAR's youngest Cup Champion and the 1950 NASCAR points champion, which was the second year of the NASCAR Cup Series Championship.

Gowanda is a a beautifully quaint community nestled among the hills surrounding Cattaraugus Creek and is coming together for a Christmas Celebration. Thursday 6/27: the carnival is open from 6:00 PM until 11:00 PM. Water fights are planned for 6:30 PM in front of the fire station. Registration starts at 6:00. The "Sticktights" band will be playing around 7:00 PM.

There’s no fishing license required on those days for the fresh or marine waters of New York State, making it the opportune time for people of all ages to learn and enjoy the day. We especially encourage those with more experience to bring along the young people in your life to show them the value of patience, the anticipation of the bite and the exhilaration of the catch!
