There's something undeniably special about the first snow of the season. It’s as if nature herself is hitting the reset button, blanketing the world in a fresh layer of white.

Allegany State Park, the Wilderness Playground of Western New York, officially opened on July 30th, 1921. One hundred years later, people are still flocking to this vast park with rolling hills, serene lakes, and abundant beauty.

It is sad to say good bye to another great ski season, but at Holiday Valley you’ll find fun all year long.

Perhaps a little known fact is that Ray Evans, co-lyricist of the Christmas Classic was a native of Salamanca, NY.  Salamanca knows it however, and honors him each year with the Silver Bells Festival.  Now there's one more way he is forever remembered in the town in which he was born and raised i
