Every Tuesday in January and February, Starting at the Summit Warming Hut on the Red House side of the park, we will be hiking the new trail called Bear Paw dedicated to snowshoe use and hiking with dogs (as long as they are leashed). The 2.4 trail is easy - moderate with some slight elevation changes.
Join Us Wednesday Jan 31st from 6pm-8pm for a gentle snowshoe hike, through the woods to Holiday Valley Spruce Lake Area. We expect a bright night expected for the Full Blue Blood Moon. Emily and Adele will discuss several lunar facts and some interesting points about the stars and the history of the area.
Snowshoe hares have oversized feet which enable them to move quickly on top of the snow’s surface. Come try out your snowshoeing skills on the white powder of the Lillibridge Preserve! Bring your own snowshoes or borrow a pair of traditional snowshoes from us when you visit Pfeiffer Nature Center’s winter wonderland.
