Ellicottville was named in honor of Joseph Ellicott, an agent of the Holland Land Company, was formed from Ischua in 1820.  A portion of Ashford and East Otto were taken in 1824, and 1858 respectively.

Ellicottville is a charming little ski town in Western New York with two ski resorts, Holiday Valley and HoliMont. Historic Ellicottville isn't just for the Winter Season as it is a year-round destination with boutiques, restaurants, great shops and events year-round!
