Gowanda's 1st Annual Film Fest

Enjoy films from local filmmakers and vote for your favorite at the 1st Annual Gowanda Film Festival!  This two day event will showcase the entries of short films from local talent, being shown on the big screen at the Historic Hollywood Theater!

On June 14th, the screenings will begin in the Theater at 6:30pm.  On the 15th, they will start at noon.  The end times will change based on length and total number of submissions.  The public is welcome to attend the screenings to see their families, support their favorite film, or just for a night out at the old Theater! Refreshments will be available.

Each film will have been monitored prior to the screening to ensure that they are appropriate for their specific category.  At this point, all films will be screened (discretion of the board), whether they are a winner in a category or not.  That may change if there are numerous entries.

Interested in submitting your own work?  All films must have had a completion date of no earlier than January 1st, 2018 and can be submitted, starting May 1st, in the categories of Youth (12 and younger) or separate categories that will be created as films are submitted.  All film must be original work of the entrants.

See the guidelines for submission on the website.  Cost is $20 for official selection, Youth have FREE entry!

More details to come.

Miner's Cabin built by Gold Miner

Miner’s Cabin in Franklinville was built by a miner that returned home after making it good during the gold rush era of the west coast. The building is not a cabin either but a three story house of Queen Anne design.
