My Generation Music Festival to benefit Tri-County Kiwanis

The Tri-County Kiwanis Club of WNY is hosting their 3rd annual "My Generation" Music Festival on Saturday, July 27 from 12-8pm.  There will three tribute artists featuring music from the 40s to today!  Food trucks, a Classic Car and Motorcycle Show and Craft Vendors rounds out this fun day.  Featured artistists include:
12-2pm:  Terry Buchwald as ELVIS
2-4pm:  Back Beat 64 as THE BEATLES
4-6pm:  Return Trip Band
6-8pm:  Dead Flowers as THE ROLLING STONES

Trophies will be given during the Car & Cycle Cruise-In and include Best Ford, Best Chevy, Best Mopar and the People's Choice.  Cost is $10 per carload and $5 for Show Cars & Motorcycles.  For more information, see The Kiwanis Club's Facebook Page

Meaning of the word Cattaraugus

CATTARAUGUS, from a Seneca Indian word meaning “bad smelling banks,” referring to the odor of natural gas leaking from rock seams. http://www.dos.ny.gov/info/pdfs/countynames.pdf

The word "Cattaraugus" means "foul-smelling river bank." This name is a result of the natural gas that oozes from the river mud. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cattaraugus_Creek.

In our opinion, only some of the river banks are bad smelling. Come on over and visit a creek in Cattaraugus County and tell us what you think.
