The deer regular season for our area opens Saturday, November 16th throughout NY State and will continue until Dec 8th.  Cattaraugus County has long been one of the top outdoor locations for hunting with the lush and thick landscapes of the surrounding mountains.  Continually ranking in the top for harvesting of deer, our state lands, state forests and Allegany State Park allow hunting and trapping during the appropriate season.  Allegany State Park now allows Sunday HuntingPrivate lands are not available unless permission is given by owner each year - do not assume prior permission stands for current year.

For places to hunt, safety tips, muzzleloading season and more visit the DEC website.  Need a map of your property?  Call our Real Property/GIS department at 716-938-2224.

For information on hunting in Allegany State Park, pick up the brochure (or call 1-800-331-0543 to have one sent to you) or go to EnchantedMountains.com/activity/hunting.  You will need a NYS hunting license and a park permit (special regulations are found in permit).  The permit can be obtained by going to the Park Police Office.
