Discover the history of Allegany State Park- January 1, 2024. New York's State Parks and Historic Sites celebrates our Centennial in 2024, commemorating the 100th anniversary of the founding of our parks and sites system. Help us kick off this yearlong celebration and get your New Year off to a great start with a hike in Allegany State Park along the newly finished Quaker Run Area Multi-Use Trail.

Beat the winter blues and join us for a winter filled with fun indoor and outdoor activities. Allegany State Park and the Pat McGee Trail will be bustling with activities provided by the Allegany Region Environmental Educators. 

Pat McGee Walk meeting at Elkdale State Forest parking lot at 1:00 p.m. Join environmental educators on a nature walk and discover all the activity still happening even in winter.

Ring in the New Year with a refreshing first day hike at Pfeiffer Nature Center! Join them for a peaceful winter walk with fresh air, quiet trails, and community connection. 

Discover the history of Allegany State Park- January 1, 2026. This year’s First Day Hike is an easy trek featuring historical and environmental tidbits of information about the features found in this area of the park. Your hike will take you along the Quaker Multiuse trail that conveniently has an entrance at Camp Turner.

At 11:30 a.m. join park educators for a guided hike at Science Lake and learn the history and interesting historical figures of the park. The Historical Society will have the Quaker Museum open from 10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.

Join Royal Fern Nursery, LLC on Saturday, August 30th from 2-5pm for an immersive outdoor experience! 

Explore the trails and learn about native plant identification, ecology, and traditional uses with expert guides. Browse a selection of native flowers, grasses, trees, and shrubs to enhance your outdoor space. 

Plus, support the Nature Center - a percentage of the proceeds will be donated. Mark your calendars and come connect with nature!

If you love sliding on steel, join us at the Fiddler's Terrain Park on Saturday the 20th for a rail jam that should not be missed. Sponsored by Red Bull, this competition is bound to be action packed and a ton of fun. DJ Tyler Swift will be rockin' the mic and keeping the vibes high!
