Heritage Day
Discover the history of Allegany State Park- January 1, 2026. This year’s First Day Hike is an easy trek featuring historical and environmental tidbits of information about the features found in this area of the park. Your hike will take you along the Quaker Multiuse trail that conveniently has an entrance at Camp Turner.
At 11:30 a.m. join park educators for a guided hike at Science Lake and learn the history and interesting historical figures of the park. The Historical Society will have the Quaker Museum open from 10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.

Music in the Park is held each Wednesday from 6:30pm – 8:30pm. at the Park Street Gazebo on Park Ave, South Dayton. The music plays regardless of the forecast.

The Tri-County Arts Council is hosting a Pumpkin Carving workshop with the renowned artist and TV personality, Eric Jones! Join Eric on October 8th and October 22nd, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM, and learn the intricacies of pumpkin carving from a master. Ages 12 and up are welcome.
Join the Challenger Learning Center for a magical evening of science, technology, engineering, art, and math (STEAM) at the Wizard Family STEAM Night on Friday, October 17th from 5:30 - 7:30pm, with doors opening at 5pm.
Enjoy 30+ wizard-themed STEAM activities, including the Sorting Hat, Tri-Wizard Championship, and a Horcrux Hunt.
