The NYS Dept of Environmental Conservation is hosting a FREE fishing day on February 14-15, June 27-28, September 26, and November 11th. There’s no fishing license required on those days for the fresh or marine waters of New York State, making it the opportune time for people of all ages to learn and enjoy the day. We especially encourage those with more experience to bring along the young people in their lives to show them the value of patience, the anticipation of the bite, and the exhilaration of the catch!

Lincoln Park will be transformed into a holiday haven as the Jingle Bell Jubilee returns on December 13 from 4 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., bringing the magic of a European-style holiday market to the heart of Downtown Olean. Celebrate the United States' landmark 250th birthday at Freedom Fest 2026 in Otto, New York. Taking place on August 22, 2026, this vibrant community festival offers a full day of family-friendly entertainment, local food, and classic American traditions. 

The Greater Olean Area Chamber of Commerce and city leadership are inviting the community out for a night on the town. Working with the city and members of the business community, the Chamber is announcing “StrOlean,” the event aims to bring folks to the downtown shopping district for an evening of fun.
