First Day Hike at Allegany State Park
Discover the history of Allegany State Park- January 1, 2026. This year’s First Day Hike is an easy trek featuring historical and environmental tidbits of information about the features found in this area of the park. Your hike will take you along the Quaker Multiuse trail that conveniently has an entrance at Camp Turner.
At 11:30 a.m. join park educators for a guided hike at Science Lake and learn the history and interesting historical figures of the park. The Historical Society will have the Quaker Museum open from 10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.

Free Fishing Day in NY!
The NYS Dept of Environmental Conservation is hosting a FREE fishing day on February 14-15, June 27-28, September 26, and November 11th. There’s no fishing license required on those days for the fresh or marine waters of New York State, making it the opportune time for people of all ages to learn and enjoy the day. We especially encourage those with more experience to bring along the young people in their lives to show them the value of patience, the anticipation of the bite, and the exhilaration of the catch!

2nd Annual Adult Prom (To Benefit Foster Care)
Join Foster Cattaraugus for an enchanting evening at the 2nd Annual Adult Prom hosted at Woodside Tavern on the Range on Saturday, August 9th at 6:00pm, benefiting foster care in Cattaraugus County. Don a mask and formal attire for a night of mystery and magic.
Cocktail Hour - 6-7pm, with the event to follow 7-11pm
Dinner - 8pm, provided by Toad's Butcher Shop

Public Overnight Ghost Hunt
The Haunted Hinsdale House presents this exclusive Overnight Ghost Hunt! Your all-inclusive experience will include a tour of the grounds and inside the historic building. You will get history and stories from your guide, as well as use of some ghost hunting equipment to see if we can connect with the other side. If you have your own ghost hunting equipment, they highly recommend that you bring it.
Please bring a flashlight and wear appropriate clothing for ghost hunting.

Join Jessica Borchert on November 19th from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM for a vibrant workshop where you’ll use bright colors and a grid technique to create a stunning portrait of your pet. The class will use a 14" x 11" canvas. While we’d love to meet your pet in person, please bring a photo reference of your furry friend instead.
