Meet at Camp Allegany at 11am on January 1st, 2026. The pace and length of the ride will be moderate or determined by the riders. Participants may split into two different groups so that no one gets left behind. 

Fat Tire bikes are advised, given the conditions of the trails that may be present.

Meet at the Administration Building at 11:00 am on January 1, 2024. The pace and the length of the ride will be moderate and be determined by the participants. Participants may split into different paced groups, if necessary. No one will be left behind. Fat tire bikes are suggested, given the range of conditions likely to be present, however, use your best judgement for the conditions of the day.

First Day Hike At Allegany State Park

Discover the history of Allegany State Park- January 1, 2026. This year’s First Day Hike is an easy trek featuring historical and environmental tidbits of information about the features found in this area of the park. Your hike will take you along the Quaker Multiuse trail that conveniently has an entrance at Camp Turner.

At 11:30 a.m. join park educators for a guided hike at Science Lake and learn the history and interesting historical figures of the park. The Historical Society will have the Quaker Museum open from 10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.

Allegany State Park has over 35 miles of Cross Country skiing trails, 18 hiking trails and 5.6 miles of paved multi-use trails (horseback riding, snowmobiling and more) around Red House Lake area. 3 campground areas with over 375 cabins.
