Through the generosity of the community businesses and organizations listed below, the City of Olean Youth Bureau & Recreation Department is offering free admission for public ice skating the following dates and times. There is a $2.00 skate rental fee.

Start your new year off right! Join us at Allegany State Park for our Annual First Day Hike. Allegany’s First Day Hike offers a healthy and relaxing way for people of all ages to get outside and enjoy the winter beauty of the area. The Environmental Education Department will determine the hikes locations.
WINTER SNOWSHOE HIKES - 4:30 PM- Join us every Tuesday evening at 4:30 PM for a trek into the sunset at Allegany State Park. Beginning January 7th, Park Naturalists will lead interpretive snowshoe treks (snow dependent) or hikes if there is not enough snow. Witness a breathtaking winter sunset at Stone Tower, visit a secret beaver pond or hike along a creek.
Holiday Valley Snowsports School is featuring the 7th annual "Your Turn" women's clinic on Thursday and Friday, January 30 and 31, 2020 led by Lisa Densmore Ballard, a widely acclaimed coach, instructor and ski racer and assisted by several of Holiday Valley's finest women instructors.
Mountain Ski Fest is a day full of skiing, snowboarding, activities and camaraderie for skiers or riders (age 21+) on Friday, February 7th, 2020 from 8AM – 5:00PM. Ski Fest includes ski and snowboard demo equipment from local shops, recreational racing, breakfast, lunch and beer and wine and tastings.

The Penguin Paddle is an annual fundraiser for Holiday Valley's Lounsbury Adaptive Program on Saturday, February 29, 2020. It is a day filled with wonderful auction items, delicious food and lots of laughs as people slip inside a garbage bag and slide on their bellies "penguin style" down the bottom of Yodeler slope. Here's a schedule of events...
The zaniest of all spring events, Pond Skimming on March 28th challenges skiers and snowboarders to try to skim across an ice water filled pond at the bottom of Yodeler. Some will make it all the way across, but many end up getting very wet (and cold!). Prizes are awarded for the best skimmer, the best costume, the best kid and of course the most spectacular splash.
Organized by the same folks who brought you the fall EVL Halloween Half, the annual spring Happy Half is a serious race, but full of fun surprises along the way. The 13.1 mile route will start at Holiday Valley, take you through the rolling terrain of Great Valley and finish at Holiday Valley. There's also a 5K distance and 1 mile Beer Run.
The one and only Gus Macker 3-on-3 Basketball, America's largest outdoor basketball tournament, will be held in Olean on their new dates of June 5th-7th
