Every spring thousands of people travel to Gowanda to look at the rows of motorcycles that line the closed main street, enjoy the music and the food and celebrate the beginning of bike season in Western New York. It’s an event with no gate fee.

Juneteenth is the oldest known celebration commemorating the ending of slavery in the United States. Dating back to 1865, it was on June 19th that the Union soldiers, led by Major General Gordon Granger, landed at Galveston, Texas with news that the war had ended and that the enslaved were now free.

Heritage Day is sure to be “Good old fashioned fun for everyone”. The location is downtown Portville and there will be plenty to do for this one day festival. The Annual Portville Central School Alumni Banquet will be held the night before, with a street dance to follow at the American Legion.
A nationwide and international audience will once again convene in Salamanca for one of the most grand and enthusiastic celebrations of Native American culture. This is North America's Biggest Smoke Dance Contest. There will be other dance styles as well including Fancy, Grass, Traditional, and Jingle.

Gus Macker Olean is back on the 2018 schedule! Gus Macker 3-on-3 Basketball, America's largest outdoor basketball tournament, will be held in Olean August 17-19.
A BICENTENNIAL CELEBRATION is being planned to celebrate the Town of Little Valley's 200th Birthday! The celebration begins on August 25, 2018 and continue into the 26th with a parade and closing ceremony! Craft (prefer actual handmade) and food vendors will be located in the Park.
Last Call to see all the birds! The "Wild Wing Festival" will be held at our Sanctuary on Sunday August 26th from 12:00-5:00. There will be Music by "The Rustic Ramblers"" with Gene Hilts on Steel Guitar, and Guided tours of all the birds. Admission is $5 and tours are $2.00. Food will be provided by the Colden Mill Restaurant.

Watch apple cider being pressed, a blacksmith making tools, and butter churning. Learn about quilting, crop harvesting and more skills necessary in the 1800s. There will also be historical items on display; like antique engines and so much more!

Celebrate the Holiday Season with a Living Nativity, complete with a camel, all in the Village. The Ellicottville A Christmas Stroll was created in 1987 by a group of citizens who wanted to organize such an event in the village.
Randolph begins their Country Christmas Weekend with a Living Nativity then continues throughout the weekend with an Arts and Crafts Show, a Parade and a Memory Tree Ceremony!
The Leon Historical Society presents the 22nd annual Christmas Program at the Historical Church at the four corners in Leon. See the members of the Historical Society dressed in Victorian attire and you are encouraged to wear your Victorian dress as well!

Rt. 62 is the only east-west route that connects Canada with Mexico.
With its origin at Niagara Falls and end at El Paso, Texas, parts of the road follow the Ozark Trail.
Rt. 62 begins in Cattaraugus County in the Village of Gowanda and travels south through Dayton, Leon and Conewango (through Amish country) before heading west into Chautauqua County.
