Get Outdoors Day at Allegany State Park

Allegany State Park, Environmental Education Department invite the public to discover some unique outdoors activities at the “Get Outdoors Day!” on Saturday, June 9th from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Summit Warming Hut on the Red House side of Allegany State Park.

This free, family-friendly event features exciting ways to get outside and explore Allegany State Park. The fun kicks off with a guided bird walk starting at 9:00 a.m. Join our Trail Stewardship staff at 10:30 a.m. as they lead us along a 2.4-mile hike on the Sweetwater trail. The Friends of Allegany State Park will be on hand to lead tours at the Summit Fire Tower from 11:00 a.m. till 1:00 p.m.  A fly-fishing demonstration starts at 12:30 p.m. Rods will be available for practice. Remember to bring your bikes, as the mountain bike tour begins at 2:00 p.m. Don’t forget to stop by the Warming Hut to see the “Ask the Naturalist” booth open the duration of the event.
