Madigan's, a local hot spot in the Village, will host the Mardi Gras Weekend Kick Off Party on Friday (8th), with music, fun, and the announcement of King and Queen!  Cost is $10 at the door and details can be found on their Facebook

Ellicottville Chamber of Commerce presents the Mardi Gras Parade on Saturday!  Holiday Valley Costume Parade entrants...we encourage you to wear your costume and join in the Village Parade on Saturday at 6:30 PM.  All floats must be preregistered and approved.  For information call the Chamber at 716-699-5046, or to see rules and regulations or find the application, visit the Chamber's website.  It's FREE to enter and so much fun!  Parade runs down the main road in the Village (Rt. 219).

Holiday Valley Ski Resort will host numerous activities throughout Saturday and Sunday (9th-10th).  It's the biggest winter event of the season there with fun activities and events for the whole family. Highlights include the Snowbar at Yodeler with music and fun, the costume parade on Sunday where the winner gets a season pass for next year, and everyone's favorite, the Dummy Downhill!  The Dummy Downhill has a $5 entry fee and starts at 1pm at the base of Yodeler on Sunday.  You bring your hand-constructed dummy (see regulations and application), get him/her inspected, then when the race begins, send down the hill!

There are approximately 1,380 residents in Leon with the Amish Community comprising about 76% of that number. The Old Order Amish settled in Leon in 1949. They do not believe in the modern conveniences. They have no electricity in their homes + travel by horse and buggy.
